Certainly hope so - we need "young" Winston back if only for a bit of a laugh.

Got to love the way some Irish commentators get so much fun out of the UK's problems - wait until the Shinners get into power here for a real shit show.

Imagine people trying to rehabilitate a sociopathic chancer, on the basis of him being slightly more competent than the shambling Truss. Reminds me of Trump administration entering the dregs and pundits musing about Dubya: "You know what, Junior wasn't so bad after all". Comparison is the thief of reason when weighing up mediocrity.

Don't even joke about that or you'll get some eejit starting a" bring back Bertie" campaign and my blood pressure couldn't stand that.
You could have them both competing in a "best liar in politics" contest

I'm not a fan of hers, I was a Kemi cheerer all the way, but I'm also not exactly sure what Liz Truss did that was different than any of the others have done. I leave that to the pundits to know everything. She seemed to me to have been something of a bedazzled scape-goat.

Now we look upon the terrible vista of either Boris Johnson returning or Kier Starmer ascending the throne, one a bumbling toff and the other an oddly stony-faced chap who is absolutely in thrall to gender identity ideology and determined to destroy sex-based reality, protections and privacies.

Oh well, we cannot stop the tides of history. We have Luke Skywalker heading up the Army of Drones in Ukraine, so why not a good dollop of dystopia in the UK.

Bojo's hat well and truly back in the ring. You can only admire the sheer shamelessness of the man

If BoJo gets it, it'll be the end of the conservative party. They'll loose votes wholesale.

Anecdotally, a very large section of the British public seem to love him still and he's the Tories only hope of avoiding an electoral disaster next time out. Remind me of his 'major ' failings last time out - seems to largely have been a media storm whipped up about a few drinks parties hopped on by his enemies.

It would be quite the spectacle if Johnson was voted back in, only to find himself suspended from the HoC after the forthcoming enquiry into his deliberate misleading of the House as PM and then to lose his seat in a subsequent by-election, resulting in yet another Tory leadership contest. For the popcorn value if nothing else, you'd almost hope it'd happen ...

I'm wondering now if maybe he would not bother - who'd do it? The economy completely busted after the insanity of repeated disastrous lockdowns. A huge energy crisis brought on because of the proxy Russia v NATO war fought on the battlefield known as the Ukraine likely to worsen severely as winter bites.
Caught between the jaws of the pandemic fallout and the potential fallout of nuclear conflagration, who among us would not understand if he much preferred the cushy speaking-tour circuit with all its adoration, eye-watering fees and endless nibbles?
