Attacker ran away after punching him out of the blue. The images (not included in the article) are disturbing. If this can happen to a pro martial artist in Dublin then things are worse than I though. I hope he recovers quickly.

Cowardly assault but it's not clear his attackers knew who he was. Reports say that 8-12 men and women started "violently attacking people" along the Liffey. Seems like just another case of random violence that Dubliners have to deal with on a regular basis. I've been saying for years that Gardai need to clean up the city centre but the political will simply isn't there.
