Without bothering to follow this story very much there are parallels here with the Republicans in NI always supporting the Palestinians while the Loyalists always support Israel. Back in the days of Apartheid, the South African government were very close to Israel - security cooperation even nuclear secrets etc. so it's hardly surprising that the new rulers in SA are in love with the Palestinians. Is there more to their concern rather than just old scores being settled?
It is all to do with history.
Israel shared military capabilities with old apartheid regime.
What makes this even more stark that SA are just in it for point scoring is they do shag all about "genocides" on their own continent.
They backed Mugabe even though he was effectively ethnically clensing white farmers and back in the 80s when he got into power had engaged in his own genocide when he sent into his North Korean-trained Fifth Brigade into Matabeleland to crush dissidents and former guerrillas loyal to liberation war rival Joshua Nkomo.
He slaughtered thousands of members of the ethnic Ndebele.
Did ANC SA ever do anything about old Mugabe next door?
Hell did they arrest the leader of Sudan in 2015 when he visited SA for African Summit, even though he has had international arrest warrant for the ethnic clensing carried out by here is gandjawee rebels in Darfur in 2003.
As a signatory to the convention that created the ICC, South Africa were legally obliged to arrest the Sudanese president and transfer him to the Netherlands.
And here was an even better show of what they think.
ANC party executive committee said in a statement that “the International Criminal Court is no longer useful for the purposes for which it was intended — being a court of last resort for the prosecution of crimes against humanity.” Instead, the statement argued, the court was biased against African leaders, of which al-Bashir’s Sudan was only “the latest example.”
More than 300,000 lives were claimed in Darfur in a gruesome orgy of decapitation, rape and torture committed by government militias.
Ah but shure now the ANC are busting a nut because 30,000-40,000 Palestinians on another continent have been killed.
Total bullcrap from a despicable regime themselves.
