Why do you think the NHS was trying to sue her?
Respectfully because they - or at least NHS Fife - are frighteningly ideologically captured.
Dr Upton is a fully intact biological male who had the choice to change in a private room in the ED doctors area but instead insisted on changing in the open in a nurse area many yards away from the place of work.
It is pure toxic masculinity at its finest, akin to a lech in a bar not caring he is making a women feel very uncomfortable.

But they were not trying to sue her, why do posters think they were?

Please don’t be pedantic. You know full well that “sue” may well be used as a form of shorthand for “the NHS trying to ruin Nurse Peggie’s life and career because she refused to cow to an entitled male’s demands”.

No it doesn't. To sue someone means taking a legal claim against someone, usually seeking a remedy. If posters are going to claim something, then they really should understand what they are talking about.
The fact is all this gender woo woo has finally reached a crescendo and started to fall off a cliff. The US and the UK both say that biology trumps emotion, transgender females are no longer allowed to compete in female categories, records set by transgender athletes are being stripped, the public are more aware of the harm this is causing in particular to women.
We in Ireland will be the last to come around as we’re the most woke country on earth, in other countries there is opposition to government, not one mainstream party opposes this craziness… yet.
Transgender athletes like Lia Thomas can still compete, just in the male category.

I’m in the UK and there has been a noticeable shift which I personally welcome because I never really understood why everyone was going to such lengths to make a very small minority’s emotional wellbeing the centre of every discussion.
I’m probably the least affected by this whole debate but even I can understand why women are hitting back at the developments of the last few years.

I think you put your text into my quote there by accident.
Yes, that’s quite a feat so I have to congratulate myself here.
I had quoted your whole post but then removed moved of it because it was so long (incl the videos) and it would have messed up the aesthetics of the site.

I seen a rare bit of pushback by trans folks on bluesky (my fyp is mostly shite people complaining about art-poor substitute for twitter in its hayday)
They've started a wee grouping for direct actions.....the lil bit of anarchy admiration in me,likes to see this type stuff.....be some craic to see emselves and the anti-trans influencers do battle in public ......how I do love to see the English tear themselves apart, and now they're gonna label trans folks as terrorists like the palestinian supporter

Rare???? Ffs seriously??
All they DO is “push back” - usually with violent threats against women!
Yous have to enjoy the madness of this, the English are circling the drain on a rounding error and tearing emselves apart.....this needs to be encouraged
They ruled and robbed the world on divide and conquer, still cling onto the six counties, let them suffer the same fate, and hopefully bring collapse in what remnants of a democracy..... England's trouble is Ireland's chance

Apparently a bit of a row brewing over whether trans women are eligible for the free HRT scheme. Pharmacies are confused and seeking clarity. Who'd have thought it?
The legislation which gave power to the free HRT scheme does not specifically exclude transgender women from the scheme.
Instead, it states that “women who are ordinarily resident in the State and have been prescribed menopause products by a registered medical practitioner…and who are supplied with the menopause products from a pharmacy provider shall not be charged.”
Adding to the confusion, the Minister of Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, was asked in March by People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy whether trans women would be eligible under the scheme.
But the Minister did not provide a clear answer, instead stating that the scheme covers HRT products “which have been prescribed for the purposes of alleviating the symptoms of menopause”.
IMO the Minister's answer is abundantly clear: Free drugs for women to treat symptoms of menopause and not to treat symptoms of women who have had their testicles removed.
I wonder will anybody have the balls to say so definitively.

As a woman - to quote Ricky Gervais, one of them old dinosaurs with wombs..
I was so upset reading this today. I went through menopause with no medication as it could not be guaranteed the supplied and I was told stopping and starting could be bad. So I white knuckled it.
I lived with every symptom you can imagine and a few I hadn’t bargained for.
To hear some deluded fcking man demand what women need for our mental, emotional and physical health just to make him feel “validated” in his delusion is sickening.
The pharmacist who handed out the medication to “Caoimhe” should struck off the pharmacist register (if this is a thing ??)

Yes, pharmacists can be suspended or struck off the register but it’s unlikely in this case as they are likely erring on the side of caution to avoid being accused of transphobia by someone who broadcasts that they are used to “fighting for everything”.
The legislation can and should be clarified but then the government would have to deal with the aftermath which they want to avoid to remain in the public’s good books. Any medication should be prioritised for conditions it was developed for, not for lifestyle choices. They can still buy the drugs but shouldn’t be eligible for the free distribution in the first place.

As a woman myself, one who is currently on the medication (but not for free cos you have to register first ) I have no issue with people accessing medication for free.
In fact, in my ideal world, once someone is prescribed a medication they should only be charged a very nominal fee and the state would take care of the rest. Ideal world, ideal health care system etc.

So a TRA handmaiden is happy for men with a fetish to receive precious medication ahead of actual women.

Disgusting.
You're gonna have to explain this in actual normal words cos I don't understand what you're trying to suggest?
I believe that a country should have a working health system that supplies medication to people prescribed it. Do you not?

Do I think delusional men should have access to medicine that is prescribed for a women’s condition?

You really do argue on semantics rather than the point.
Well you got away with this shyte elsewhere.
You won't around here because we will call out your drivel every time.
A biological male i.e. a person born a man, no matter if he has or hasn't his nutsack attached, should not get medication that was developed and is necessary for women i.e. the female of the species, no matter what gender they claim they are or what name they call themselves.
How hard is that to fooking understand?
And how hard is it for you to say you agree or disagree with that decision?

I don't agree. I believe that whatever medication someone is prescribed by their medical practitioner should be supplied to them at a nominal fee, or free. A decent health system would support that.
