Re: Woke Hypocrisy
Another mass shooting event today and thats where they go ? Rainbow bullets ? SMFH.
Today's wokery bullshit corner - the CPS in the UK have appointed a man dressed as a woman, who has made vile misogynistic comments in the past as a "Speak Out Champion".
I'm glad I'm heading for my mid 50s, I got to experience freedom and women's liberation and empowerment. I could be a tomboy without my sexuality being called into question or getting a label. Now the men have taken over - not by beating us, but trying to become us.
Sad days.

I remember when they used to say all this stuff was confined to US college campus’. Now it has a strangle hold on the biggest corporations and governments in the world and a massive army of dedicated activists.

I heard about the sentences yesterday and read the RTE piece. What struck me is how well the judge spoke, how much she understood the torment the girl was put through, for example how dangerous it would have been for her to try and escape. Ms Justice Tara Burns. The judge really conveyed the horror of the experience of gang rape. It must have felt like it would never end, especially as it resumed in another location after she thought they were taking her home. She also mentioned that the girl should not feel bad about accepting the lift - I thought that was a profound observation.

I'm not exactly sure whether you are supporting or not supporting deportation, Celchick. It was not actually something I thought about yesterday when I read the story. I was just glad to see proper sentences for a change.
But now that it is brought up I stand by what I wrote another time on this forum. I think that if someone immigrates into a country and within a certain time period set down by law commits an egregious crime then deportation should be on the table. I suggest 10 years as the time limit at the time of committing the crime, after which deportation is not considered.
I remember knownunknown posted fairly and reasonably that the deportation issue is subject to difficulties. But I think regulations could possibly overcome much of the difficulties.
If Irish men emigrated to any country, say Australia or Canada, and got residency visas and then got to know each other as friends and committed a gang rape, I would 100% support deportation of them from the country to which they emigrated. In fact I would expect and applaud it. That country would also have their own serious criminals, but I don't see why they should continue to welcome evil doers who had moved there from here.
I just thought of a comparative example which might seem weird. I have relatives who foster children, quite a few over the years. And they have their own birth children. Generally they will work through all problems that arise, some of the older children coming into foster care have been through a lot and can be troubled. The parents are amazing and what they work through is above and beyond what I could tolerate. But over long years they have had to make hard decisions with one or two very troubled children. To stop fostering them. This has only ever happened where other children in their care have been endangered by the newer fostered children. Naturally they cannot "return" their own birth children if they behave badly. But I think it would be wrong to compel them to continue to foster children they have kindly taken into their care if those children prove to be a danger to the family.

Re: Woke Hypocrisy
When cases like this hit the news the media have been telling us that good men need to accept that they are a part of the problem. I remember an Irish times article with that exact headline and there were many more like it. There is a problem in Irish society so the woke narrative goes and the problem is men.
When it turns out the men involved were from another culture and immigrated here I can see how it grinds on some people. The same thing happened with poor Aisling Murphy, in the aftermath men in Irish society were vilified. The killer, Josef Puska, needs an interpreter for his case that starts on Monday.
I grew up and have lived in Ireland most of my life but don’t look Irish fwiw. I’m the last person who wants to see racism against foreigners.
Gaslighting is the only word for what’s happening: being told men in Irish society are the problem, using horrific crimes and murders to further this narrative, then finding out the perpetrators were foreigners and banning talk of immigration saying it’s off topic.
That quote stood out to me too Isha, I had already copy pasted before your post appeared!
Definitely certain cultures from foreign lands deserve more scrutiny then others, they are less aligned with Irish culture. These are conversations we should be free to have without being labelled as racist, or without all foreigners being thrown in together in the one boat.
I think a foreigner was villfied in Irish society, Bagrat Kudzievi. Where are the woke crowd when that actually happens? I may be wrong but from what little details there are publicly available what happened to him is shocking. The evidence contradicts itself, it doesn’t make sense. I can’t understand how he was found guilty of those crimes considering women had passed by recorded it and uploaded it to the internet. He was given 7 years under the condition that he leaves the country when his sentence is up, so not exactly being deported.

I think the judge is right, it is reasonable to assume those things. Irish society is pretty good actually all in all. Only one of the men involved was a product of Irish society though and he was the only one to plead guilty and admit to his horrendous crimes. On Thursday, Justice Tara Burns told the woman that “she wasn't stupid or naïve,” and that it was reasonable for her to assume that boys her own age from the local area would get her home safely.
“She was entitled to assume that society works in a civilised fashion. Little did she know that she had gotten into a car with people devoid of respect for her or for themselves.”

The woke crowd are the ones pushing this narrative about men, in clear contradiction to what the judge said:
“ Deputy Costello stated: “It is unacceptable that women cannot go out in their communities without being fearful for their safety. As we come together today in vigil, we as the men of Ireland need to reflect on our own behaviour and to make the necessary changes in our lives to put an end to misogyny and violence against women in Ireland.””

No question in my mind that these people should be deported as soon as their sentences are completed.

Maybe it’s just people looking for a way of preventing this in the future and seeing very different things, which ultimately is coming from a good place. Not everything is preventable though, maybe that’s what we need to accept, there are a tiny, tiny number of lunatics out there. We should do everything we can to be mindful of them.
When a male foreigner perpetrates this kind of attack some people want to stop men from gathering in social settings while others will try to stop foreigners. It’s the same stupid argument from both sides. People forget what harm stereotyping causes.

It's absolutely sick. Extreme political correctness has robbed its practitioners of their humanity.

Don't press play if you don't want to know what Christina Aguilera did at an LA Pride show that advertised itself as all ages. It's just fecken ridiculous. How is this supposed to be the progressive thing?
I won't even post the pictures of the stark naked grossly fat lard ass who was parading with his also naked pal in front of kids down the main street earlier at "pride".
There's got to be a place called stop. Is it even possible to go there now without some crazy horrible backlash overkill of a rebalancing?

Lads and lassies, just wondering if a woke popstar singing about cutting off her exes mickey so he can't have sex ever again after he leaves her, is a bit hypocritical in these times when offense should not be given. Asking for a concerned husband who wonders if it is not a little OTT.

I think one of the things that's wrong with the world is the fact everything has become binary and nuance has been swept away.
If someone loses 3.5 stone, how can they still be fat?! Does not compute! We need a simpler statement!
We can't have two simultaneously true statements - everything must be made simple for the moronic consumers of this drivel.

Harvard’s Claudine Gay forced to resign because she couldn’t admit that calls for genocide of Jewish people were against the campus’ code of conduct. This is the same woke ideology that goes after Markus Meehan for making a joke about calling for the genocide of Jews. (Remember the nazi pug dog video?)
She tried to defend the calls for genocide as ‘free speech’ even though her campus dropped to bottom of the free speech rankings. (https://alec.org/article/harvard-ranks- ... 20%2D10.69.)

Trump says he will designate Antifa as terrorist organization in the US. Long overdue.knownunknown wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 7:17 pm A bit like ‘the guardian angels’ a lot of people especially in the media are willing to give antifa a pass because they agree with the ideology they are trying to enforce, one which silences others by force. If it’s all for the greater good then what’s the problem sort of thing.
It’s usually explained away as some sort of right wing provocation, this left wing violence.
There was an article in quillette a number of years ago, by Eoin lenihan who was much like Andrew Doyle, drawing attention to this stuff by satire.

In this article I think they answer why the guardian aren’t reporting this sort of thing,

Antifa have been getting away for years (more like being allowed to get away) with pretending to be a “movement” not an organisation, and claiming to be just a loose bunch of autonomous people who just happen to have the same logo, flags, organisational structure, and who happen to have large meetings to attack people where they just accidentally all end up in the one place at the one time, masked and carrying the same banners.knownunknown wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 2:51 pm Trump says he will designate Antifa as terrorist organization in the US. It’s hilarious that they’ve been allowed to get away with this, and shows they must have friends in high places.
It’s like the IRA would have been ignored by the authorities if they’d just said “ah no, we’re not an organisation, just a bunch of lads who like balaclavas”.
