It’s a flat out lie to claim you can say anything on TV in a country where no politician from either of the two main parties have been asked a hard question in 10 years, where graft and corruption is rarely mentioned, where only one side of any social debate is given real airtime, and where every TV channel has loudly and strongly taken a side in every referendum.
In terms of what is allowed on TV, Ireland is barely better than North Korea, just a little more subtle.

Does the US have a similar offence as assisting an offender or aiding and abetting?? Surely he’s a textbook case?

There were people of non European origin who fought in battles, but usually as mercenaries and the like. Not in any capacity to be highlighted in a film or series unless you needed to fulfil a quota.
