I've often thought that covid, for all its human misery, provided excellent cover for some inevitable and essential economic and financial policies that would otherwise have been almost impossible to implement. Mainly relevant to the US, but some applicable to the eurozone too.

The fact Irish Rail have used the pandemic limitations to implement a full alcohol ban on all services leads me to agree completely with you.
