Terrorist attack in NewZeland

#1

Post by GubuOriginal »

Seems to have been ISIS inspired according to the reports. Carried out by a Sri Lankan. Came to NZ in 2011 and came to the attention of authorities in 2016. I wonder how he managed to stay in the country so long. Jacinda Ahern doing her best to play down the role of Islam and Islamic culture as expected.

No deaths thankfully, and is the first terror attack since a White Supremist killed 50+ people in Christchurch. It'll be interesting to see if she criticizes extremist Islamic ideology as much as she did far-right ideology, the perpetrator and what her opinions on 'diversity' are in relation to this attack (the other attack was also carried out by a non-NZer).

Beeb report : Under 24 hr surveillance/followed. Follower shot him dead within minutes of attack commencing. No legal reason to have him locked up.

Sounding like NZ were ( and had been for some time ) fully up to speed on the individual
