Sky launches new streaming television

European pay-TV company Sky has today announced a streaming television which puts its set-top box functionality into the device and is connected by WiFi rather than needing a satellite dish.
It appears that Sky are going to be selling TVs with Sky capability built in to the device.
"This is the only TV in the world with Sky inside, and all of your favourite apps too. It works on WiFi, so no dish, no box and no fuss,"
It will launch in Britain on October 18, followed by more markets in 2022.

Am I going to limit my TV purchase to one that Sky brand and still have to pay a monthly sub of somewhere close to €20? Not a hope!
Sky said the new TV would come in three screen sizes: 43 inch, 55 inch and 65 inch.

They would cost £649 (€763), £849 (€999) and £1,049 (€1,234) respectively if bought outright.
Will you buy one of these when available?

Now if they make the Sky app available for inclusion for all TV brands it might be worth considering ...... but that is not how I read this.

They're trying even harder to compete with Streaming services like Netflix, prime etc if Sky is going to release this.

Never mind that TV and Broadband packages are quite common with these companies .

My problem with these services is the limitation on the number of devices that can be used concurrently.

Nope. Every time I have any passing contact with Sky, it reinforces my satisfaction with not having any kind of TV, and definitely not a Sky subscription.

Oh yeah I guess not good if you share with a household, but still even if you had 3 people on it for 30 a month, it still works out at value.
