Re: The Epstein files

I think its strange the way Jeffrey Epstein has been turned into this massive pantomime/Bond Villain figure by the media. I also don't think his 2008 convection of having sex with a 17yo is much of a crime to write home about, hell it's legal for a 50 yo man to have sex with a 17yo here in Ireland, ...

Seriously, why don't Corbyn & Sultana just join the Green party and forget about this your party nonsense?

How about Joe Costello for Labour? That way Marie Sherlock wouldn't need to worry about the next election as at his age it would be a one term deal.

Re: Green Party defeat both British Labour and Matt Goodwin in important by-election.

I wonder will there be a Labour and Conservative coalition government in the UK similar to how we have had Fine Gael and Fianna Fail coalitions governments? Wouldn't a "rainbow coalition" of Labour (with an new leader) the lib dems, the snp and the Greens be the more likely alternative to...

Will Willie Aird ever make it to cabinet?

It makes no sense that a giant like Willie remains on the backbench while an non entity like Hildergaurd Naughton gets to the cabinet table. It's like the major injustice of 2020 when Michael Ring was dropped and Mcentee promoted

Re: The Aaron Brady, Garda killer case

If the lad is innocent, I can't stress enough how major a problem for him it is that Gemma O'Dotty is the one fighting his cause, the absolute lunatic laughing stock who also recently wrote that nobody died on 9/11 and that the "dirty Dublin accent" was created by the Jews in the 1970s.

Re: Rotating PM: Could the Brits do it too in 2029 ?

I see one guy predicted in 2013 that it would only happen when FF and FG had roughly equal seats, and so it transpired in 2020, though not 2024 obviously. It was actually first mooted to my knowledge in 1989 by Alan Dukes, who'd been supporting FF economic policies for the previous 2 years from opp...

Re: Rotating PM: Could the Brits do it too in 2029 ?

It's interesting to read back this 13 year old thread on the rotating Taoiseach topic, it's funny how many people were adamant that it would never happen https://www.boards.ie/discussion/205706 ... -2016-2021

Rotating PM: Could the Brits do it too in 2029 ?

It would seem totally alien to most Brits but if Reform need the Tories to reach a working majority, and the Tories don't want to be a junior partner, an ideal solution to break the deadlock could be for Nigel Farrage and Kemi Badenoch to rotate/share the office of Prime minister for 2.5 years each....

TBH a lot of people on both the far left and far right are idiots who turn on people very quickly. Do you remember all the idiots who turned on Michael d Higgins in 2014 ( calling him a midget parasite", a "sell-out" and a "traitor") because he didn't refer the metered water...

Why is the Australian teen social media ban getting such an extraordinary amount of media coverage in Ireland?

For the record, I think it should be up to parents not the state to decide if kids should use social media, but what I find absolutely extraordinary is, the amount of media coverage RTE etc are giving something that is happening on the other side of the globe that has absolutely no relevance to Irel...

Was Catherine Martin the most Pro RTE minister ever?

She secured them their 725 million bailout and fought hard to get them direct exchequer funding. She fully supported them in their decision to close longwave radio, dab radio and Aertel, a big contrast from previous ministers who called closing longwave and Aertel "an attack on the elderly"

Re: Burke family, Castlebar

Do the Burkes ever mix with anybody from outside their family? I heard someone from RTE saying that they aren't very friendly to people who come up to them to offer support. Now that i think about it, you'd never hear any of them interviewed by any of the "far right " podcasters and YouTub...

John, what’s the end game here in relation to the courts? They sent him in and out of prison until the end of last year and then they changed tact. Enoch was free until this week which is 11 months! What changed? Did they believe that sending him in and out of prison was working so well that they c...

It's a wonder How/Why Wilson's hospital school ever hired Burke in the first place. Long before transgenderisum ever became "a thing"/ a topic in Ireland, he was known for using very unpc language about Homosexuals, about 12 years ago he got banned from boards.ie for demanding to use the t...
