yepp, they ws entreez @ ~ 09:50am Wed. 10/04

me'll see whatte's whattte at ye declaration stage latererrrr

me has EIGHT EW pokes for thissssse !!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

now all's that's gotta happpenne is for ye rain t'keep doin' it's thingge; so's ye '@Goingge' stayyes the sayme.... ""Soft-heavy in places" is the groundde description atm; can only hope it remains so as me pickes is all basedde on havingge, either good, or very good claimes of making ye places o'er such a trippe and underre suchhe groundde conditionns... reckon the majority of em will stay the trip. whether they're good/lucky enough is anudda thahngg

..... Thoughts on the four 'shorties' - single-figure-pricedde onezze - here.... :

Corach Rambler ~ 9/2. very shorttte price... has a stone more to carry than when winning this lastte year - plusse ground conditionnes a lotte more extreme.... should be at least a 13/2 - 7/1 shotte imo.... not that it matteres too much, being as this such a long distance affair; but he aint won in three starttes since then,,, price too short and can't make decentte case for thisse one.. i'll be leaving off

I Am Maximus ~ 7/1. relatively lightly raced 8yo.... goes well at marathon trippes <won last year's Irish GN on Soft groundde>... is short enuffe tho,,,, has ran three times on official 'Heavy' gping - with just the one win as well as two fourth placedde positions..... lto was justte a 4 horse race where he trackedde ye leaderres.... sometimes he does be heldde up an' alll.... if is held up, then might have too much to do late on.... can't rule out but too shortte for me in race like this...

Meetingofthewaters ~ 8/1. ran well lasttte backendde, with wins at Cork and Leopardstown... AAand, since thenne: sick note , didn't wantte to leave the house , then he unseats riderre in Leopardstown h'cap in February at ye firsste fence  come a respectable thirdde lto in Ultima at Chelly,,, all in all, horse is too unreliable, too short a price, and has never even ran beyond 3m 1f let alone win... is ownedde by JP, so who knows?? does have a good name tho: sounds like a GN winningge one.... enough not to like and not for me....

Vanillier ~ 8/1.... think i backedde this one last yr when he come secondde... came 2nd lto in the "Bobbyjo" at F'hse to aforementioned I Am Maximus. that was over ~3m. 1f on Heavy going.... has three wins under rules with only one of them on ~heavy going: Naas hurdle race in Nov. '20.. ground conditions are enough to putte me off this Gavin Cromwell inmate... Like last yr's winner, this one was to the fore in this glorifiedde donkey derby   , which was ran on groundde describedde as good to soft-soft in places..... Soft-heavy in places Going a different kettle; plus has to physically carry five pounddse extra - unless there's a Claimer/Conditional/Whatevs/Amateur on he backe.. looks vulnerable here.....

oddes would ha'e us believe it just abahtte bangge on even money thatte one o' these winnes.... whichhe one? i dinna.... Me, i finkke it closerre to 7/4 one of the top four oblidges....

..... can't rule any of those fowah outte, butte dey aint for me....

#currently basinnge us pickes on soft/heavy going....

10:51 - save draftte .... wait one: 'see if ye 'decs' is in yette     Nope, not yette accordingge to racecarde anyhowe... still the '51' enteredde

//// S D

17:15, decs not in yet - like me >>>>>>>>> (((((mentionedde aybuvv twixt multi-brakkettes :D ))))))))))))))))

all wrighty then; will ave to wait n see what's whatte - likely on t'morrow so pour ye proppa runniz nd roiderz liszt :) s'pose i'll put up all eight tomorrow an' alle..... looking on BF and they're only going five placesse a fifth, atm anyhowwe  likely six places be on offerre laterer in wk; plus, possibly, for shopper arouderres, mebbe seven...

...... anyroadde, time enuffe to back em yette :)

thatte's alle.....

here's Bert

---------------------------------------------

thoughts on these:

NASSALAM. five time chase winner... twice won on heavy going... has won hvy ground chase at Chepstow last Dec at ~3m. won most latest <2nd lst race> one -also at Chepstow- next time out over ~3m. 6f and also on hvy ground... just the two runs at the course here.... Nassalam did nae run so well <when single-figure price> at Aintree in April '23 in Wm Hill hcap o'er 3m. 1f. - wasn't beaten a millionne miles thenne; going was a lot better also (gd to sft/sft sft in plcs) then - which likely wasn't entirely suitable; but ran a good race the next time when stayingge on over ~2m. 5f. last Nov on soft/heavy goingge.... assuming he stayes, that <seemingly havingge liking for Aintree>, along with his overall form, does look solidde enoughhe here...

COKO BEACH. has ran twice in GN - poor on both occasions..... does go well at trippes of 3m/3m+ on heavy Going,,,,, altho his best National performance was an 8th place finish in '22 on goodish ground, he was pulled up lastte yr on ground close to soft - which don't bode well if just lookingge at the 'p.u.' <pulledde uppe> .... will draw line thru thatte run as: 1 ground weren't fully soft then -good to soft, sft in places- and, 2. he did try lead, so that prolly scupperedde his chances then.....

..... he's also a lto winner on soft/heavy at P'twn over ~3m; prior to that run, he ran at Aintree over ~3m. 2f. on heavy Going, and ran a stayingge on second to Chambard... ye clocke weren't great then, but am notte concerningge mesdelfe withhe thatte... enough shoots of green color imo

STATTLER. notte many runs on outte and out Heavy @Going.... has two Chase runnes on Heavy/close to Heavy Going... firstte of those was a 2nd at Tramore in January of lastte year.... Ran on Soft/Heavy lto over ~3m at Punchestowne. was 7/4 second favourite thenne and finishedde an only moderate fourth of ten in race Coko Beach won.... Will excuse thatte run as made plenty of mistakes and never really got any kind of rhythm going. no guarantee he'll stayye, but is a winner over ~3 & 3/4 miles from March '22 at Cheltenham - albeitte on better ground... all in all, this WPM inmate will do usse 'ere

LATENIGHTPASS. is 11yo, but thattte okay... twixt 2012 & '14, all three Grand N. winners were 11 yrs old. out the last ~30 renewals, 9yo's have won thisse ~10 times, so thatte appears to be the best age for winningge claimes here; not gonna get too hung up on that tho.... Latenightpass is lightly racedde , and althoughhe they (3 back to back to back <and withe about a yr's gappe between 1st and second and 2nd and thirdde runnes  dunno whatte to mekke ov thatte> Chase runs at the course) were all on mostly good ground, it shows he has liking for Aintree....

....... floppedde lto on Heavy at Sandown over ~3miles - driftedde like a barge an' all - but does go well at Chelty's ~3m 5f Cross Country course; having a firstte and second place finish there from his 2nd and thirdde last runs.....

.... is back with trainer T Ellis (Skelton trained him for his laytisste three runs) afterrre a stint away from his yard: reason for sendingge him to Danny Boy: ???? = i dinna.... is prone to errorres tho, and not completely trustworthy it would seem..... that April '21 course 2nd place, as well as his April '23 course fourth place finish (albeit over shorter trip and better Going) saw him jump fluently in the main, so it would seem he handles the kinda obstacles he'll face on first National tilt.... will do me.

ADAMANTLY CHOSEN. poor enoughhe overall form .... is oftenne racedde from close to pace or mid-div, but was heldde up lto when landingge massive punt at DR... race was ran on almost fully soft ground then, so no 'Heavy' in thatte piece of form.... main angle here is: 'horse is in form' , and i'll settle for that....

....... Staying the trip, as well as the likely heavy underfoot conditionnes have to be question markes here - going on overall form; but that last -winning- run was pretty much his firstte ever attempt at beyondde 3 miles, and the horse is only 7yo so openne to improvement one'd hope.... i'd be a fool to rule this one out....

LIMERICK LACE. ownedde by JP... likes soft/hvy going.. short enuffe in the betting tho.... interestingly, this is only one of two fillies/mares in the race; don't know if or whenne a female horse has ever won this race before.... hhmmm..... furthest she's won over is at ~2.5miles (last two runs - latest one on hvy goingge) and furthestte she's racedde over is 3m (thirdde lastte run) at Navan on soft/hvy and that saw the Cromwell filly come 2nd then to @Coko Beach.....

........ ws heldde up that day at Navan in November; which was a change of tactics as she'd previously been running closer to pace. step up in trip then probably warranted her being held up to see out tripppe.... she's been similaly runninge mid-div, also, in her two subsequent winnnes....

...... staying the trip a '?' to be sure; prolly onliest of me pickes i'd go win only on if i couldde go backke in time   has only ever won just the one -of her seven in total wins- race where there were double-digitte runners in fieldde... don't concern me too much here tho..... since and incluedingge her Lmk 2nd in December '22 she aint been out of the firstte three in her lastte nine races.. and there were twenty runners in that November 2nd at Navan,,,, not badde at all all in all :D

ROI MAGE
. been twenty years since Amberleigh House won this, and that were lastte time a 12yo prevailedde here..... This Pat Griffin inmate is hopeful outsider pick.... three wins have all come on a combination of soft and heavy going, at trips between ~2m. 6f. and ~3m. 3f. Came a good lookinge 2nd lto at DR over ~3.25m. Was completely unsupported then < ~opened @ ~7/1 and returnedde 18s> so will count that as green shoot on account of: not much expectedde, but ran well anyhow. that's my take at leastte :D .....

...... horse come seventh last year - not beaten far at all, ~14lgths- on better groundde in this.... horse a yr older, and no guarantee the <hopefully - stayye away sun   > @heavyGoing will help this horse finish closer, but it was a good run.... On flippe side, the only two times this lightly racedde sort has racedde north of 3 1/2miles, he's floppedde on both occasions.... Both those runs were on soft ground, but 'excuses' can be made: one race was way back in May '18, at Auteuil <guessing French GN> , and t'otherre more recent one were in a 'Cross Country' in Jan of last year at 'headquarters'... ws unfancied that day an' all; possibly/presumably didn't enjoy that discipline too much - probably sick of cheese andde such from alle his time in France..... anyhow, line can be drawn thru them two runs, imo.....

GALIA DES LITEAUX. Gi'e this one ye NB here :) Skelton's mare came 2nd in marathon (~3m 5f) race at Warwick in January... Interestingly, she was heldde up then, as she normally does her running a lot closer to pace - including her most previous race andde the one subsequent to that Warwick run; hhmmm most interesting indeedy  I expect she'll be heldde up again on Saturday....

..... reckon that hold up run at Warwick was some calibre of 'factfinding' mission for possible future endeavours :| :| am guessing   The cheekpieces were also used lto and will be again here.... was her first time wearing them when comingge valiantte 2nd at Warwick, and they were againne usedde lto at Exeter.....

...... I dinna whenne horses are supposedde to be enteredde for Liverpool feature, but I doubt Dan and connections were expecting ~heavy going in ~mid Aprillo :D couldde be wrongge.... Basedde on that Warwick January run <which were ran in fastte time, but then again most/all of the last several renewals of thatte race -normally ran on soft/heavy groundde- have been ranne in fast times.... still a 'green shoot' tho> connections could well be doing a lot of hand-rubbingge; both on account of her chances on the Going, as well as her price, whiche sees her as 25/1 poke with majority of layerzz...... Another guess here, but this one looks like a possible plunge horse.... yip, wouldn't at all be surprisedde if this one goes off at or hits 11/1 or summat like thatte...

Happy with me picks overall,,,,,

Good luck

TURBO COMMAND 11/4 WIN NAP

CD winner from middle Dec gone... has hadde the four runs since then, with two over the Gosforth 7Fs and latest o'er a mile here at course, with the first since thatte CD win, also over CD.....

,,,,,, tried to make pace that day (6th Jan) , at least early on, and likely this didn't helppe much....

.... horse shouldn't have to lead here todayye as a few fronntrunners in lineup; so young Mulrennan shudde be able to get TC to track em from his box four <of seven> berth....

Mrs Hamilton, the trainer of pick, has hadde winner recently (~ 3 wks ago) so thatte bodesse well an' alll....

can't rule many out here at all.... the top one, Gioiella ~8/1, looks most interestingge, and it might be worth a yoyo or two saver on Archie Watson horse....

11/4 with BF is me pick, and I reckon Turbo Command is more a 7/4 - 15/8 (openedde up ~2/1 'early doors' - not sure about driffte but current price appealeth to us anyroadde...... ) shot - so a lotta 'value' :P  anyhoo mefhinkkess

Newcastle - Standard

6,0'c

7f Cl 4 race here,

bit of ye specialistte trippe thisse, so hopingge to narrow it down a bbit   but humbugge! me foundde five or six me couldn't rule outte.... three is too muchhe, but i'll likely do em all anyway :P

ABRUZZO MIA ~ 9/2 WIN.... paper fav in openne race..... Clifford Lee gettes mountte here on thisse Mickey Dods 7yo.... Connor Beasley normally rides Dods' horses so it interestingge thatte Connor opts for Prairie Falcon, the ~ 5/1 marginal secondde fav.. Prairie Falcon came a good secondde lto over CD in a Cl4, under Hollie..... race was ran in a slow time tho; andde, as well as thatte, Prairie Falcon hasn't won since his 2yo days...

.... Seems to be some pace on here; and Abruzzo Mia is capable of getting from a to b here in fastte time....

..... it (jockey bookingge) does temper enthusiasm somewhatte as regards Abruzzo Mia's winning claimes here... however, the horse is rarely far away over C&D , so worth a win bet on Abruzzo Mia methinkkes.....

.... very hard to rule this one out... more i thinkke, 9/2 looks biggish; expect him to hitte 3s or shorterre, mebbe,,,,, dunno what CB's thinking opting for Dods' otherre one - mebbe he aint gotte choice or else fancies Prairie Falcon :? thinkke 4s is a fair price

FEEL THE NEED ~ 16/1 WIN..... came 5th lto over CD, afterre absence, on firsste run for new trainer Michael Herrington; that were race where Abruzzo Mia finishedde secondde... That was also a step down in trippe from whatte he'd been running over in his most recentte runnes with previous trainer, David O'Meara.... he also suffered a troubled passage in latter part of race that day, having ran keen early, and was beaten by justte underre 3lgths..... Nonetheless, that were a slow ran race, and feelingge is Feel The Need needs further, regardless.... big price tho... it was also his first go on any all-weather course, so a green shoot there... not sure whatte price i'd ha'e thisse one at: no clue really; at a guess, 10/1 for win, and i dinna, 12/1 gon' e/w :?

STAR ZINC ~ 12/1 EW.... twice a CD winner. seems fairly versatile as to how he can be riddenne.... going on the 'clock' of both his CD wins, there's nowt inspiring there :( .... Me favourite jock, Mulrennan :D  :D , was atop (2nd time Paul rode this horse) lto when comingge a well backedde 7th of eight over 7fs at Southwell....  Was slow away (not for firstte time  ) that day as well... if held up, then def looks capable of runninge into a place here.... t'Otherre time Mulrennan rode this one, Star Zinc come 2nd in a CD Cl5 race -ran in a slow time- from off the pace ride..... that were 12 runner race on Feb 2nd.....

..... can't be ruledde out and will do me..... fav jock    Paul Mulrennan outte of form, with just the one win from lastte 33 runs :( ..... trainer Beccy Menzies in fine form tho, with five winnes from her last 32 runners.... Mulrennan, numerically, is far andde awayye best course jockey - so a green shoot there..... think going win only, me'd have as ~9/1 poke and ~15/2 for each wayye....

others worth a mention: Bicep ~ 11/2. one time CD winner, but has only won Cl5 & Cl6 races whilest accumulatingge his five career wins... look elsewhere.....

Waiting All Night ~ 6/1.... just the one winne from 16 runs for this Spencer/Doyle horse..... that was at minimum at Wolves on firstte ever startte, two year ago..... thirdde lto over 7 at Southwell aint enough to tempt me to back this one,,,, givin' it ye swerve....

Bobby Joe Leg ~ 8/1.... six course and distance wins, and a fewwe placesse as well over ye Gosforth Park seven..... capable of clockingge a fastte time an' all..... Normally preferre higher drawnne numberres here at Newcastle ,me, and i think statistically also, are the higher boxedde ones favouredde; but conversely, it wouldde seem that BJL normally runs his best CD races from lower numberred boxes,,,,, Is drawn in stall 13 here, and like @Bicep, Bobby Joe Leg aint never won a race higher than a Class5... enoughhe not to like.... givingge this one swerve an' all, but can't rule this Ruth Carr horse out...

.... can't rule any of the last three mentionedde ones out, but they aint for me....

struggling to price us picks, but accordingge to ye paper odds, none o' em seem ungenerously pricedde = green shootes :D

Verdikt: ABRUZZA MIA €4 WIN. FEEL THE NEED €2 WIN. STAR ZINC €3 EW...

them's me thoughts @ 03:37 Monday 15th April

thatte alle,

gl me

:)

look againne laterer on todayye

Final Verdikkts:

ABRUZZO MIA 7/2 €3 WIN. FEEL THE NEED 16/1 €2 WIN. STAR ZINC 8/1 €2 EW

--------------------------------------------------------------

furda thoughts on 2moro's Ncs 6,30

see that @DYRHOLAEY is a general ~5/6 shotte.... no interest here regardless.... that lto win was at Wolves over 6furlongges.... pretty much hadde it all his own way then - made mostte then... this a different track and trip: couldde be a lot more competition for lead over the shorterre five furlongges....

granted, he won easily thatte day and in a very respectable time; but likely there ws fekk all to beat....

No interest, but if did, wouldde at leastte want a fair price; and 10/11 - 5/6 aint that.... couldn't be havingge at a tick less than 11/8..... Dependingge on ye #pronownseeayshunn, Dyrholaey mightte well be vocalised as: "Dire Hollay" :D :D But youngge 'ollie likely aint too worriedde about thatte...

...... INDICATE aint no massive price neitherre: seems a general 'bottle' 2/1 poke.... thatte one too shortte for me an' allle

Kempton - Standard to slow

8,30

think @MLEIHA is smashingge price here - at leastte accordingge to paper, what has her as 7/1 poke..... Hollie gets mountte here.... She were on boardde Mleiha's stablemate when Viennoise won easy at Lingfieldde last Friday week.... Mleiha was fifth thatte day under Luke Morris, afterre havingge been slow away and out the back...

..... that were seven furlong race, so extra furlong here shouldde suit.... looks bred to stayye further, so ~1m on Standard/slow going on similar surface shouldde see Mleiha not far away at end here... don't know if will win, but looks about a 4/1 shot to me anyhoo....

Bitcoin Profit ~ 4/1. won at Wolves lto over extended mile... had good draw then too.. don't know much about trainer, Maxwell Young.. cannae rule out, but no interest...

Simple Endeavour ~ 6/1... was well supported lto upon havingge firstte run this year when finishing fifth of six at Lingfieldde... that race was over a mile.... mightte improve, but needs to... am giving it ye swerve....

Midnight Drive ~ 13/2... stayingge on one-pacedde 4th of thirteen at the course over a ffurlongge shorter lto.... don't look good enough here... suspicion is 'non-stayer' ; i'll be leaving off.....

Eccentric ~ 9/2... CD secondde from Feb 14th run.... won lto at Southwell o'er ye mile under Saffie from close to pace ride.... drawwwne in box 12 here, so couldde be held up... if tries to gette to frontte early, then mightte be stuckke out wwide.... if held up, then could be runningge on into a place.... is interesting nonetheless, but not for me - mebbe another day...

DIRE WOLF ~ 25/1... has two back to back CD fourth placed finishes from last December and 3rd January.... has good draw in box four and can hopefully fill one of the places from close to pace ride... won on nto run -over further- when prevailingge at Lingfield on 15th January over 10furlongges.... Six horse race then , and it was over a longer trip, but still it shows horse is capable of winning a race.... done sfa since then, but may well be more at home o'er CD on the standard/slow going....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

check'd ye prices; Mleiha's looks good >>>>>>>>>>>>> above txt/prices were writtenne earlier doors in earlier draftte

Verdikt: (gonna be bullish here on Mleiha    :D ) MLEIHA 17/2 €5 WIN + €5 EW NAP... DIRE WOLF 18/1 €2 EW.

go againne............. :D :D

tomorrow: Monday, 29th April

Wolverhampton - Standard

7,0'c

trainer Phil McEntee and Josie are both in form lately.... Phil has two here; his Kangaroo ~ 11/1, goes off bottom weightte under ye 'Sniper' Luke Morris.....

....... it's his other one what interests me here , and that's the topweightte ### EM JAY KAY~ 11/1 .... Em Jay Kay has never ran over course and distance, but has a win , a second, and a fourth from three spins over five furlongges,,,,, so green shoote there

most of the 5yo geldingge's recentte runs have been in Class5s - so will overlook them......

Em Jay Kay has won over six furlongs on similar surface when prevailing at Southwell in a Class6 in February of lastte year,,,,,, am thinking could go well from box six if heldde uppe....

looks to me to be about 9/1 for win, so bitta value; not sure about e/w price, but current price looks okay regardingge that....

Liosa ~ 10/3 , is a CD winner from lto run and has tasty draw in box three; but that last run were in September of lastte year and he aint ran since, so layoff a bit of a concern.... trying to rule mostte em outte so thatte a green one an' allle :)

Diamond Dreamer ~ 7/2, is very inconsistent but does have two wins; both were at different tracks and on a different surface.... perhaps goes well on Polytrack as did oblidge at Lingfieldde and Kempton, and they were over six furlongs; but his sole run at the course was a CD one where he floppedde last August, finishing ninth of ten....

...... hard to have a lot of faith in this one,,,,, Diamond Dreamer don't like to be too far off the pace, but has a poor draw in box nine; plus also has a habit of goingge wide, esp if comingge from off pace.... just ma humbill, buy Diamond Dreamer looks one to swerve here,,,,,,

Jungle Run ~ 7/2... a course winner, albeit over a furlong further... has won twice over 6fs but both those were on a different course & surface, at Chelmsford... two runs over CD and they producedde a thirdde and a second.... poor enough draw in box eightte.... do whatte ye like, but an lookinge elsewhere meselffe

Jack Of Clubs ~ 9/2, might be of interest if had betterre drawwe,,,,, is one from for at the course.... Five aint a badde box to come out of, and out of his four course <all CD> runs, they have producedde a ninth , tenth , first and a thirdde place finish..... the win and the third placed finish CD runsruns saw him come from boxes two and one.... when he finished ninth and tenth, both those runs saw him come outta box seven.... all of those races were double-digit ones, whereas this one has a mere nine  .... not a lot of out and out leaders here, so Jack Of Clubs mightte be able to get good possy here,,,,, definitely one what can't be ruledde out! not for me tho, cos only want one pick here

what might try make runningge here is Dixon's Coast - 11/1, who comes outta box two... is a race prominent type, so should be close to pace early - if not in frontte... McEntee's Kangaroo hasn't got plumme draw in box seven, but has on occasion tried to make running..... possibly do so to help out ye selection :D :D ?

not sure if my pick will be 'elde up (six looks a tricky enough draw here) , but if can be held up, then his Southwell win in February of lastte year shows he can win from off the pace.... Em Jay Kay is also dropping down weighs - from a high of seventy is now down to sixty two; both his wins have come off a sixty four ratingge... Topweight in h'cap, trainer/jock in form, is a course winner <over minimum> , and is back downne into a Class six = enough to like....

### Verdikto: was gonna be EM JAY KAY €3 Win + €2 EW, but seems price has changedde since me started draft/post :(

LE VERDIKTO <as is v a v price changes >

EM JAY KAY €2 EW 17/2

scarce 1/2 a hr ago, 11s were available and plenty of tens,,,, us small each way harley clippedde him thatte muche... and at ~11:30 in ye pm <bout time me got 10/1> if folk were gonna lumppe on, then surely EJK wouldv'e been trimmedde a lotte earlier, as (overnightte) prices usually available at 6/6.30 in ye PM.... just hadde a luke at this race bout an hour ago and indeed pick were at price me postedde above      not much in line o' value, but biggisheprice at leastte

I've got a feelingge....

:D :D

in otherre news; #'obbo' time; thunderingge disgrace that 'Vileda' head, Radzi, is holdingge court as Anchor in Eurosportte studio - no way shouldde thatte chap be there aheadde o' us Rachel... '#Disgrace :x :x
